Wounded Warriors
ABOUT: Since our founding in 2003, Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) has been committed to our mission of honoring and empowering wounded warriors. Our vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of injured service members in our nation’s history. We connect, serve, and empower the wounded men and women who bravely volunteered to serve our nation on or after the events of September 11, 2001.
We connect warriors, their families, and caregivers to peers, programs, and communities to build a readily available network of support.
We serve by providing free mental and physical health and wellness programs, career and benefits counseling, and ongoing support for the most severely injured.
We empower warriors to live life on their own terms, mentor fellow veterans, and embody the WWP logo by carrying one another on a path toward recovery.
Today, more than 200,000 wounded warriors and 50,000 caregivers and family support members are registered with WWP and, through supporters like you, have access to our life changing programs and services at no cost to them.
MENTAL HEALTH: This generation’s signature wounds of war often cannot be seen. WWP recognizes and supports veterans living with invisible wounds of service by providing programs to help manage these injuries. WWP’s programs help wounded warriors and their families thrive in their next mission by equipping warriors with the necessary tools and community support needed to set and achieve mental health goals.
Wounded Warrior Project offers an innovative, personal approach to mental health and wellness that centers around the warrior. Free services and programs are designed to empower and improve the quality of life for warriors living with depression, anger, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and more. Our interactive programs and a broad offering of professional services can provide a vital link to better mental health. The Mental Health Triage team is here to ensure all warriors are matched to the right programs and services.
